He has recently learned that the cancer he recovered from long ago has returned, but he has no complaints. He goes to the opera, takes a trip to the sea, sits on his son’s sofa and says, bewilderedly: “There’s something in my head!” But what is it? What is there in the father’s head? He goes back to Frankfurt, where he has lived alone since separating from his Greek mother decades ago. He also goes to the biopsy alone, seemingly determined not to give up his lone wolf-lifestyle until the last possible moment. On the day of the examination, the Chief Neurosurgeon gets in touch and tells Schäfer that his father has suffered a brain haemorrhage: “Your father is going to die,” he says. “He is in an induced coma. Im Sommer 2018 kommt der Vater von Andreas Schäfer zu Besuch nach Berlin. Kurz zuvor hat er erfahren, dass er an Krebs erkrankt ist, doch Beschwerden hat er keine. Er geht in die Oper, unternimmt einen Ausflug ans Meer, sitzt auf dem Sofa des Sohnes und sagt verwundert: »Dass da was ist!« Aber was? Was ist da im Kopf des Vaters? David Wagner A House Between the Times The "Villa Rosen", a neoclassical country house, was designed in 1908 by the architect Max Taubert, who later achieved world fame, for a Professor Adam Rosen and his wife Elsa. When Frieder and Hannah Lekebusch discovered the empty house on the edge of Berlin's Grunewald forest in the mid-nineties, they succumbed to its enchanted charm. The Leke-busch family restored the house to its original state in a lavish restoration project, and the shin-ing new Dahlem villa, a "jewel of pre-modernity", quickly became a place of pilgrimage for Taubert fans, artists and influential journalists. Die Villa Rosen, ein neoklassizistisches Landhaus, wird 1909 von dem später zu Weltruhm gelangenden Architekten Max Taubert für einen Professor Adam Rosen und seine Frau Elsa entworfen.
