Annette Dittert served as a foreign correspondent for ARD from 2008 until the end of 2025. A dedicated journalist and documentary filmmaker, she became widely known as bureau chief and correspondent in Warsaw, and later in New York and London. Her work has earned her two Grimme Awards, as well as the Hanns Joachim Friedrichs Award. In 2019, she was named Political Journalist of the Year for her coverage of Brexit. She currently lives aboard her houseboat, Emilia, in London.
