Murder Under the Provençal Sun

Capitaine Roger Blanc has been transferred from Gadet to neighbouring Salon-de-Provence, where he will now primarily be investigating mysterious cold cases. His first case is a murder that took place six years ago: at that time, a family was almost completely wiped out in their car in a remote car park in the Alpilles. A cyclist who appeared to have nothing to do with the other victims also died there. Blanc and his colleagues investigate in Eyguières and Aureille, two picturesque small towns whose residents harbour dark secrets.
There is the girlfriend of one of the victims, who gained a child and money as a result of the crime. The old farmer's wife who feels betrayed. The two pensioners who don't just visit Provence as tourists.
And then there are the dead themselves, who become more and more mysterious the longer the investigation goes on. Little by little, Blanc and his colleagues unravel a web of lies, deceit and illusions. Until they realise what really happened on that hot summer's day six years ago.
