“An extremely funny, briskly written travel diary about vacation glitches in which everyone recognises his own loved ones – and reads in one sitting.” - WOMAN
“The dantesque family vacation has often been described, but rarely as funny as here.”
“A nice lesson about a vacation with obstacles that can turn out okay in the end. If you let it.”

The last great family adventure: on holiday away from one’s own four walls
Summer is approaching, everyone is looking forward to the family holidays – but unfortunately everyone is looking forward to something else! Rainer wants to hike, the kids expect 24/7 entertainment and YOU finally want some time to relax on the beach with a book. But instead of idyllic family togetherness there is stress with the partner (“What? You only packed one bathing suit for me?”), nagging kids (“Mom, when do we finally get there?” “I have to go...,” “I’m bored”) and events that put a strain on even the best laid plans (“And the next few days will remain unseasonably cool and rainy”).
When daughter Sofie then makes friends with the wrong children, Rainer fraternises with their father and the author ends up in a tedious catfight in the “ball pit of the play house,” she finally realises that she must finally undertake firm measures if she is going to rescue the family’s beloved holidays.
