One day, when the notice of another big rent increase arrived, Stefanie Diegelmann and her husband Martin finally had enough and decided to buy their own home. Easier said than done. How do you pick real estate when the dream homes are on different planets, as it were? Stefanie pictures herself in a little ivy-covered house in an overgrown fairy tale-like garden. Martin views the situation more practically: garage, underfloor heating, broadband network in an affordable new building are his essential wishes. But upon entering the fabulous world of real estate they soon discover that negotiations between themselves are only the smallest of their problems.
An adventurous year of house hunting, scurrilous encounters, relationship crises and crazy dream house offerings begins...
